This is SO true. I pride myself on being a genuine, authentic person, and I am generally pretty comfortable in my own skin. But so often I catch myself worrying about people’s opinions of me, and wondering whether they ‘like me’. And these are people who I don’t particularly value, people who I’m not very close to — so why do I care? Your article helped me to realise that it’s okay to not be liked by some people. Ultimately, if I act my true, authentic, great self and they don’t like that, then it’s their loss!
